Pediatric Injuries

image

Pediatric injuries and fractures must be treated differently than adult injuries. In general, before children reach maturity, their bones are softer and more bendable than in adults. As a result, the injuries they suffer often differ. Fortunately, pediatric bone injuries also usually heal significantly faster than in adults, making the need for surgical intervention in many cases less likely.

Treatment

At Pacific Crest Orthopedics we treat all age groups and fracture types. Beyond broken bones, there are some pediatric orthopedic conditions for which we may recommend treatment by a Pediatric Specialist. Many of these conditions are more related to what are known as congenital (from birth) conditions. These include issues such as Clubfoot, Hip Dysplasia, and Cerebral Palsy.
